The annual chamber music festival BlenioMusica, previously known as Blenio Festival, was founded in the summer of 2021 thanks to the initiative of the young pianist and artistic director Susanna Braun, who has roots in Valle di Blenio, Switzerland. Due to the pandemic, musicians were unable to perform in public for nearly two years. Susanna aimed to offer young musicians with exceptional talent the opportunity to return to the stage and perform in front of an audience. From the very beginning, the festival has enjoyed great success.

Thanks to innovative concert programs ranging from Baroque to 21st-century music, the festival also aims to promote and enrich the musical and cultural life of Valle di Blenio and the surrounding area, known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage.

From 2021 to 2024, four editions of the festival were held, with concerts in the parish churches of Santo Stefano di Torre and San Martino di Olivone. During the fourth edition, a concert was added at the Swiss Railpark in Biasca. This special location not only allowed the artists to step beyond the borders of Valle di Blenio but also provided the opportunity to present a different and broader repertoire, such as the performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
